I watched to see her expression. She just sucked her teeth and told him okay. On the inside, I was dying laughing because that left her no choice but to stay and talk to me. This was all I had been hoping for. Just a chance to sit down and talk with her. Thank you, God, for letting that elevator break down because now I could finally get some one on one time with her ass without her trying to run away from me.
She got up from the chair, went over to her printer and made copies of the paperwork that I just finished signing and passed one of each to me when she finished. Then, she walked back over to her desk and I watched her take off her shoes and change into a pair of slides.
“I hope you don’t mind me eating in front of you because I haven’t had anything to eat all day and I’m starving,” she said, going over to the small fridge that she kept in her office.
“No, I don’t mind. Do your thing, lil mama,” I said.
I coolly pulled out my phone to silence it because the shit kept vibrating in my pockets and I didn’t want to chance Toya hearing that shit. Yes, like very single nigga in America, I had bitches. But I put this on my life, if Toya gives a nigga a chance, I swear to God I will change my whole damn phone number, making sure only her and my damn grandma has the shit. I silenced my phone and then but it back inside of my pocket.
“You want a water or something?” she asked me.
“No, I’m good. Go ahead and eat your food,” I told her.
She nodded and sat back down in her office chair. I watched as she pulled out a ham and cheese sub, and next to that, she had her Fiji water, her Ritz crackers, and her orange.
“You know you a square, right?” I asked her, laughing at her little lunch that she had packed for work.
“Why you say that?” she asked, looking up at me after taking a bite of her sandwich.
Just as I was about to reply, a loud ass lightning strike came from outside, which caused the lights in her office to flicker on and off. It did that for about a good ten seconds and then eventually, the power in the building shut off completely. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out my iPhone, then went to turn the flashlight on from my phone.
“Ay, what type of phone you have?” I asked Toya, who was now pacing the office back and forth.
“I have an IPhone. Why?”
I could tell from the sound of her voice that she was pissed off. Shit, a nigga was more than happy because the more time I got to spend with her, the better.
“I have an IPhone,” she said, looking at me, as I flashed the flashlight on her face.
“Go get it and put your flashlight on too so we can have more light.” I walked in her direction with my phone so she could see what she was doing.
After she took out her phone, she turned on her flashlight as well and then sat back at her desk. I went and sat back in my chair as well, and I couldn’t help but notice how fine her ass had gotten when she was mad. The way her already high yellow skin turned red and the temporary mug that adorned her face was on full display, and sexy as fuck. When I become her nigga, I know it’s my job to always keep her happy, but if she was this fine while she was mad, then I wouldn’t mind pissing her ass off a few times for the hell of it.
“So, Ms. Toya. It looks like we’re going to be in here a little while longer, so we might as well use this time to get to know each other a little better,” I said.
I knew I sounded like a corny ass nigga, but I didn’t want to come off as aggressive and scare her little ass away. It’s just that I was an impatient ass nigga. It wasn’t normal that I run into a female and she have me ready to wife her ass up. Toya was putting me on a damn challenge and I was getting a little bit tired of waiting for her ass.
“I don’t even want to be in here with you. So, don’t say it like I’m choosing to do this. Besides, I’m only your buyer’s agent, there is no reason why we should be getting to know each other better,” she snapped then picked up her phone from the table and started going through it.
I was at the point now where I was already used to her slick ass mouth, so I was just going to let that little comment slide. But I promise, by the time I make her my girl, she’s going to learn how the fuck she’s supposed to talk to me.
“What nigga fucked you over, little mama? Because I can tell that you got this whole vibe about you that you think all niggas are dogs, but I’m here to tell you right now that I ain’t all niggas! I’m one of a kind, baby, so quit talking to me like I’m some bum ass nigga on the street! That nigga that fucked you over, I ain’t him, so I would appreciate it if you stop treating me as such,” I said.
I wasn’t even trying to come off as snapping on her or anything, but the fact that she was all into her phone and not looking at me in my face while I was talking to her was pissing me off.
“What makes you think a nigga fucked me over? Why can’t it just be that I don’t want to be bothered?”
She put the phone down and crossed her arms under her breasts. Her whole demeanor now was aggressive, and I felt like she was challenging me, so I was going to give it to her straight, with no chaser.
“Lil mama, people act the way they act because of their past. Ain’t no female gonna just be so quick to turn a nigga down that is visibly trying to get with her ass. It’s just not happening like that. Yeah, you may be thinking I’m some thug ass nigga, with no education, and you probably thinking I ain’t shit with all these tattoos on my body and these golds in my mouth. But, I’m also a smart ass nigga, and I specialize in body language and people. I can’t help but to think that something bad happened in your past, and now you go around taking all of that shit out on the wrong people.”
I sat up in my seat, trying to read her. I wanted to know the things that hurt her, the people, shit, any fuckin’ thing so that I could make sure that none of that shit ever happened again.
“And why should I tell you? You don’t even care,” she said and I could hear her voice crack.
I inwardly smiled because now we were getting somewhere.
“When the janitor came back here and said that the elevator stopped working, I could have easily taken the stairs back down to my car. Going down fifteen flights of stairs ain’t shit to me. I hit the gym every fuckin’ day. What I’m trying to say is, if I didn’t care I wouldn’t have fuckin’ stayed! I was already done with the paperwork. My services were no longer needed. So, the fact that I’m sitting here right now should prove to you that I care, and if nobody else does, just know that I do,” I said sincerely.
She looked at me for a minute, and I could tell that she was wracking her brain on whether she should open up to me. Her ass was acting like I was the damn boogie monster or some shit, and my ass was acting like a fuckin’ teenage girl at a sleepover, waiting for her friend to tell her biggest secret. That showed how eager I was to find out about her. If my niggas knew that my ass was over here trying to play 21 damn questions with a female, they would without a doubt clown my ass. But then again, if they saw this fine ass creature sitting in front of me, they would understand my position.
“Okay, what you want to know? I’ll answer anything you want me too but if I feel like it’s none of your business to know, I won’t discuss that information with you,” she said.
“First, I want to know the nigga that fucked you over, so I could go beat his ass up, and then thank his ass for sending you my way,” I said it in a joking way, but I was dead ass serious.
“It wasn’t from a relationship or anything, more like from my father. Growing up, it was just my mother and I. Yeah, my mother gave me everything and anything I asked for as a child, but that still doesn’t amount to the absence of having a father figure around. It’s crazy because I haven’t longed for my father the way that I’m longing for him now since I was a little girl. I think it has to do with the fact that my mother isn’t here with me anymore. I kind of feel like I do the same routine every day. I get up, bust my ass here every day at work, sometimes I don’t leave this place until twelve in the morning,
and then I go home and do it all again in the morning.
“I’m at a point in my life where I feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders, and it gets hard not having a family member to call and just tell me that they love me, you know? Yeah, I have Monae and I have Charlie, and I love those women to death, but they have their whole family thing going on. Besides, they hate when I get into this little funk, so I try to walk around like everything is okay when it’s really not.”
A lone tear fell from her beautiful gray eyes. I swear this shit did something to me. It made me want to go look for her coward ass daddy my fuckin’ self and strangle his ass to death. He fuckin’ damaged this girl, all because he didn’t want to step up to the plate and do his fuckin’ job as a father.
“And you say your mom isn’t here anymore. What happened to her?” I asked.
I really wanted to know. I wasn’t on no nosey shit, but the way this woman had me feeling, I wanted to know everything and I didn’t want her to leave anything out.
“She died last year in a car accident on her way to support me at my job’s annual picnic at TY Park. I never told anyone this, but I guess I may as well tell you because I have gotten so far into the story, but I honestly blame myself for her death. I damn near begged her to come to the picnic with me because I wanted her to get out of the house. My mom was always working, and I just wanted her to take a break from all of that, so I ... I ... I begged her. I begged her, and because of me, she’s gone, and it’s all of my fuckin’ fault!” she cried.
I stood up from my seat and walked over to her chair, with my phone in my hand and placed it on her desk. I effortlessly picked her up and set down with her on my lap as she cried her eyes out. I let her get it out of her system for a good five minutes and then I intervened.
“First off, don’t ever say no shit like that again, Toya, and I’m serious. Don’t go around blaming yourself for your mother’s death because even though I didn’t personally know her, I know for a fact that she wouldn’t blame you for that. You weren’t the driver that killed your mother, so don’t blame yourself for that, man,” I said as she continued to softly cry with her head on my chest.
I just knew that she was going to get up once she calmed down, but surprisingly, she stayed. This was the shit her ass needed at the end of the day, though. She needed a nigga who was going to hold her when she cried and tell her that everything was going to be alright. Toya was strong, but she wasn’t like strong, I could tell by the way she had the front of my shirt soaking wet from her tears.
After she was completely done crying and all that was left were light sniffles coming from her, I spoke up. “You can’t possibly think that I’m going to be able to leave you alone after this. I want to know all of your secrets, and you say that you feel like you don’t have anyone, but I want to prove to you that you have me in your corner. A’ight? So, I don’t want to hear you say that shit again because I’m here,” I said.
She nodded her head and that was good enough for me. A second later, the lights in her office flickered back on.
“Hey Toya, they had to—” some square ass nigga came into her office saying. He stopped once he saw me with Toya sitting on my lap.
I could tell this pissed him off to the fullest, and if he had a gun on him, he would probably kill my ass. I could see it in his eyes that he wanted Toya, which only proved to me that he was going to be a problem once I made this shit official with her.
“Oh, umm, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you had company. I was just saying that I was called in because I was the only one with the code to get the power to come back on in the building. I just wanted you to know that the elevator is back on and that you can leave now if you’re ready to go,” he said.
Toya jumped out of my lap. “Okay, thank you, James. I’m getting ready to go right now,” she said.
I stood up from the chair, pulling up my pants, and watched as he turned around.
I called out after him, “And homeboy, knock on the door next time. You’re her co-worker, not her nigga, so please don’t overstep your boundaries.”
Toya shot me an evil look, telling me to stop it.
Certain shit was just disrespectful to me, and certain people needed to know their place. For him to think that it was okay for him to just bust in her office, led me to believe that he thinks he has it like that and can do whatever he feels when it comes to Toya.
“Okay, I’ll remember that the next time. Hey, Toya, are we still on for lunch?” this clown ass nigga said.
I felt like he was trying me, but it’s okay because we’ll see who’s going to have the last laugh. Once I start fuckin’ her and she brings her ass to work with all type of hickeys and shit on her neck, and a huge ass gap between her thighs from the amount of dick that I was going to have her taking every night, his ass won’t be laughing then.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, James,” Toya said, dismissing him.
He nodded his head and left, but not before mugging me.
I laughed because his ass was a little puppy to a lion like myself. He didn’t want this pressure, so he better go sit his ass down somewhere, with those tight ass pants he was wearing.
“That’s the type of niggas you like? That’s why you can’t give a nigga no play?” I asked Toya.
“Diandre, please,” she said, going over to the side of her desk to slip her heels back on.
“Answer my question, and what that nigga mean by are y’all still on for lunch?” I asked, sounding all jealous and shit.
I wasn’t trying to sound that way, but damn. I know the type of problems that I had coming my way already for fuckin’ with a bad bitch like Toya, but I was already prepared for that. I didn’t mind niggas looking at my bitch, in fact, you can salivate over her if you want, but don’t fuckin’ touch her, and don’t talk to her, and you damn sure don’t think that I’m going to let her go out to eat with your ass.
“I told him that we could go to lunch together, but I told him it wasn’t going to be a date or anything, so I don’t even know why he felt the need to say that when we had already cleared that up the other day,” she said and I believed her.
“You still ain’t going to lunch with that fool. I’ll take you to lunch, it’s wherever you want to go. What time is your break tomorrow?” I asked her.
“It’s whenever I decide to take it, but most times I go at one,” she said.
I nodded my head. “Alright, I’m picking you up tomorrow to take you to lunch. Get your purse and shit so we can go, I know you’re tired.”
She went and got her purse and her briefcase from the corner of the room and turned off the lights in her office without giving me any back lip. I had her ass trained a little bit already. After, she locked up her office, I let her walk in front of me and lead the way. As we were walking to the elevator, we spotted the janitor again. He saw Toya and me together and smiled.
“Remember what I told you,” I said to him.
He gave me the thumbs up, letting me know that he remembered.
“What did you tell him?” Toya asked me and pushed the down button for the elevator.
“Touch your nose, man,” I said.
We stepped into the elevator, and when the doors closed, she turned and faced me.
“Diandre, you can’t be fuckin’ with people that work with me. These people already don’t like my ass because they think I’m stuck up, don’t give them a reason to start hating me even more,” she said.
I smirked. “It’s cool, I like my bitch stuck up. That’s how you supposed to be,” I said.
She looked at me and rolled her eyes. I swear, this was only the beginning for Dre and Toya, and I couldn’t wait for the day that she starts calling me daddy.
Chapter 7: Jaquan
“Morning everybody, it’s Dj Envy, Angela Yee and Charlemagne tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building. None other than Quan,” Dj Envy said announcing me.
I know this should have been
an amazing moment for me, but I wasn’t feeling all of this interviewing and shit. Five years ago, I would have only dreamed of being on The Breakfast Club, but now, at this moment, I wasn’t feeling all of this. I guess you can say that this shit that had been going on with Charlie has me stressed the fuck out. I was always able to perform well and fly through interviews because I knew what the fuck I had at home waiting for me. Even when Charlie and I wasn’t together, I was still able to get through this shit because I knew without a doubt that I always had her support.
Trust me, if there was a way that I could have dodged this interview today, I would have, but Quay had already had this shit set up, so it was no way that I couldn’t show up. After everything went down with Quay and I, I took a few days to cool off before I decided to call him back, and just like typical niggas, we brushed that shit to the side and kept it moving. I trusted Quay with my life, and I know for a fact that he would never fuck me over, which is why I could never fire him and try to find someone to replace him.
As far as Charlie goes, I couldn’t even get in contact with her ass ever since she hung up the phone in my ear early this damn morning. I swear, I wanted to strangle her ass for doing that dumb shit, and then she had the nerve to block my ass. Had I not come home at two o’clock this morning, I would never have even known that she was gone. I was about to catch a flight to New York to do this interview, but I realized that I was about to leave the state without my weed, so I had to swing back to the house and get it.
Honestly, Charlie had every right to think of me as a dog ass nigga for doing her the way I did, but I swear to God that that shit wasn’t intentional. Charlie asked me have I ever fucked Ma’kai before, and when she asked me the first time, I told her to go on with that shit because I didn’t want to answer the question, but then she caught me off guard when she asked me the second time. I’m going to be honest, though, I couldn’t for the life of me remember if Ma’kai and I had ever fucked before because I had fucked just that many bitches to the point where I couldn’t keep count.
